A Small Workshop Focused on Doing the Work Properly
We opened Pivotwell in Khon Kaen to offer watch owners a place where their pieces receive considered, unhurried attention — and where the process stays transparent from start to finish.
Back to HomeWhere Pivotwell Comes From
Pivotwell was founded by Somchai Rungsiyakul, a watchmaker who spent over a decade working in Bangkok before returning to the Isan region he grew up in. He wanted to build something modest and solid — a single workshop where people in Khon Kaen could bring watches that mattered to them, without needing to send them to the capital.
The name comes from the pivot — the fine axle that sits at the heart of most mechanical movements. It's a small part that has to be exactly right. We thought that fit the kind of work we wanted to do.
We focus on three services: light regulation for watches that simply need adjusting, crown and seal renewal for cases that have seen some wear, and complete restoration for older pieces that deserve a proper going-over. The scope is deliberate. Fewer things done with care seems right to us.
What We Aim to Do
We want each person who brings a watch to us to come away feeling that the work was worth it and that they understood what was done and why. That means being honest about what a watch needs, what it would cost, and how long it will take.
It also means not starting work before the scope is agreed. Watches are personal objects — sometimes they carry history. We don't presume to know what the right decision is for each piece. We set out the options and let the owner decide.

How We Hold Ourselves Accountable
Documented Work Orders
Every job has a written record of what was assessed, what was agreed, and what was done. A copy stays with the client.
Appropriate Tooling
We use watchmaker-grade tools sized for the movement type. No shortcuts that risk scratching bridges or stripping jewels.
Timing Verification
After any regulation or servicing, accuracy is checked with a timing machine in multiple positions before the watch is returned.
Pre-Work Assessment
Each watch is examined under magnification before any discussion of work. We note what we find and share it plainly.
Secure Handling
Pieces in for work are stored in individual padded trays, logged by job number, and never left accessible outside working hours.
Client Updates
For longer jobs, we send a brief note when work begins and again when it finishes. If anything changes mid-process, we contact the client before proceeding.
Considered Work for Watches That Matter
Watch repair sits somewhere between a trade and an applied science. The movements in most quality timepieces are assemblies of dozens of small, interdependent parts. When something is off — a slightly worn pivot, a stretched mainspring, a degraded lubricant — the effect shows up gradually in the timekeeping. A good watchmaker reads these signs carefully and addresses root causes rather than surface symptoms.
At Pivotwell, we work within the limits of what a small, focused workshop can do well. We don't take on every type of watch or every kind of problem. What we do take on, we handle with the same methodical approach: look first, plan, confirm with the owner, then act.
Khon Kaen is Thailand's second-largest city but doesn't always have the kind of quiet, specialist services you might find in Bangkok. We wanted to change that for watch owners in the region — to provide somewhere local, accessible, and straightforward.
Questions About a Watch? We're Happy to Help
You don't need to know what the watch needs before reaching out. Describe what you're noticing and we'll take it from there.
